A Photographic Study of All Things West Virginia

Abandoned 4

Fourth installment in what’s developing into a little series on abandoned buildings.

The “yard” of this lonely abandoned home was choked off with head-high weeds.  This made for a somewhat difficult approach from the nearby road, but the flowers provided a welcome accent to the scene.  Unlike many such abandoned dwellings, this one had been emptied of furniture and all other belongings and was remarkably intact on the inside.

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you stopped mowing your yard, this image provides the answer.  Better go fire up the Lawn Boy.
