Abandoned 20
The gas grill offered a sad touch to this already somber scene. It’s like the inhabitants had been whisked away by aliens, leaving useful items to languish and decay.
I wanted to take a peek inside, but I was unable to make my way through a brier thicket that has taken over the former front yard. That’ll teach me to wear shorts on these photo outings.

Thanks HoaiPhai. Definitely doesn’t have the “shock value” of yesterday’s post. Looking at Google Earth I noted several other homes in the woods that I failed to spot during my visit to this location, so I am probably destined to return for more. It would seem that curiosity trumps repulsion.

You use Google Earth, too? Using it I found a great offshoot to a small river that has hundreds of turtles. I’ve got to go back, this time when the forecast doesn’t include rain.

This is really interesting. It’s not nearly as traumatic as your post of yesterday. If I ignore the fallen deck (I guess it is) it kind of reminds me of the country house my aunt and uncle used to have when I was a kid. I find the colours soothing.
